Join Us for Trench Safety Stand Down: June 16-20, 2025

Trench Safety Stand Down

Join us this month as we spotlight Trench Safety Stand Down (TSSD), a national initiative to raise awareness and prevent injuries related to trenching and excavation hazards.

Led by National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) and supported by OSHA, TSSD is all about educating workers and employers on the life-saving practices that protect those who work in and around trenches. Cave-ins are among the deadliest hazards in construction—but they’re preventable.

SLOPE IT. SHORE IT. SHIELD IT.

Key ways to prevent trench incidents:

  • SLOPE or bench trench walls
  • SHORE walls with supports
  • SHIELD using trench boxes
  • Ensure safe entry/exit points and proper inspections
  • Keep materials away from trench edges

Let’s work together to reduce fatalities and injuries in our industry:
